About
Mocha Sisters Organization® was founded October 9, 2004, by Ladi Mallam. It started with a phone conversation discussion with Deirdre Kelly, a native of Jackson, Mississippi giving the concept of the name of the organization. Ms. Mallam saw a specific vision for an organization with a mission to promote all its’ six core values. Mocha Sisters Organization® was incorporated October 20, 2004 and has received its non-profit status recognized under section 501c(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Mocha Sisters Organization® partners with organizations to promote the awareness of health, wellness, business etiquette, education, and much more. Our mission is to further promote the interests of our organization and our members to the community. We strive to make a difference by educating the public and expanding our community reach.
The majority of members’ time is spent in community service providing a mentoring program and college scholarships for all female ethnicity. At Mocha Sisters Organization®, we instill in our sisters a greater awareness of the need for commitment to our community- to become more responsive to the needs and concerns of our communities.
Mocha Sisters Organization® Six Core Values
Sisterhood - The state of being a sister by uniting in one order to demonstrate trust, respect, cooperation, and aid to future Mocha Sisters.
Knowledge – We emphasize direct perception, understanding, education and experience, whether gained in the classroom, or the workplace.
Integrity – MSO members must demonstrate the state of being upright. MSO stresses whether in business or life, members’ are guided by honesty, ethics, and fairness.
Networking - Our actions form a common place where women can learn, exchange ideas, and build business relationships with other business women in the organization.
Unity – MSO members must demonstrate the state of being one. MSO members will act on a common understanding of our vision and values.
Community/Awareness – Future members and members of MSO actions will demonstrate the priority by sharing of time, talent, and treasure with both communities and with MSO.
